About the workplace

You will belong to the department for high school planning, guidance, and research at the School and Leisure Administration, placed in the unit Youth in Collaboration. Within the unit, our centrally placed study and career counselors work. We are constantly working to develop and improve our operations. Every employee is important and carries a responsibility for our common goals and results.
Job responsibilities
As a study and career counselor primarily for introductory programs, you will be responsible for students' study and career guidance at the language introduction IMS and individual alternative IMA in Helsingborg, together with the school unit. This involves two Introductory Programs, IMA, which specifically targets students who will continue to adult education. The guidance work is aimed at students who need compensatory guidance of various kinds. The student should have a plan for a sustainable transition to the next step, whether it be education, work, or other activities. The starting point for the work is the individual study plan established together with the student and educators. Part of the work is done in close collaboration with study and career counselors from adult education and other relevant actors for the target group. The position also includes collaboration with study and career counselors in adapted upper secondary schools. Guidance conversations, group guidance, study visits, and lessons that increase the student's choice competence, insight, outlook, and foresight will be conducted, allowing the student to reflect on themselves and various opportunities regarding their future.
The position includes a coordinating role for transitions from the Introductory Programs, where close collaboration is needed with Adult Education, the municipal activity responsibility, and other services that meet the needs of youth.

Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is a qualified study and career counselor. You have work experience where you are used to taking responsibility and are confident in your professional role. You have experience with the target group and have worked in schools. If you have experience working with social media and/or are multilingual, it is an advantage.
You work independently in a structured way and collaborate with colleagues and others to create the best conditions. You are meticulous and determined and can express yourself well in speech and writing. You find it easy to build relationships, network, and maintain contact with key individuals.
We are looking for someone who is student-centered and can adapt study and career guidance to best support the student in their decision-making process.
We place great importance on personal suitability and your understanding of the target group. Good collaboration skills are a prerequisite, as well as a desire to develop the work and see connections.
A driver's license (B) is a requirement.
